New Jersey and Hurricanes Not Strangers

Our hearts go out to all Americans affected by Hurricane Sandy. The storm is expected to cause  over $20 Billion in damages and has already changed many lives.

Unfortunately, New Jersey and hurricanes are no strangers. Although most think of hurricanes  as a Gulf Coast phenomena, New Jersey and the Northeast United States in general have endured their own share of disastrous storms. On average, a hurricane approaches the Jersey Shore once every ten years.
